FTP Instructions

File Transfer (FTP)

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a way you can move files from one computer location (network) to another. To make an FTP connection you can use a standard Web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.) or a dedicated FTP software program, referred to as an FTP client. If you have ever used Fetch (Mac), WFTP (PC) or FTP, you are already familiar with some clients for file transfer.

Using FTP with a browser:

Visit https://ftp.dsgraphics.com

You will be prompted by our Serv-U File Server for your username and password.

Once logged in you will have an option to choose which client you want to connect with.

Option 1: Web Client

Provided by DSG | UW as an easier option using a web browser. Once logged you will be able to choose Upload and Browse to the file you want to upload. Once you are ready choose Upload. When you are finished you can simply close the upload window and see the files you have uploaded.

There is an automatic e-mail sent to your customer service rep notifying them that a file has been placed in your directory. However, a corresponding e-mail or phone call is still required for the job to become live at DS Graphics | Universal Wilde.

Option 2: FTP Voyager JV

Provides instructions to install required Java app and client.

Using SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) with a dedicated FTP client:

There are several FTP clients available for free (CoreFTP, CuteFTP for the PC and Fetch for the Mac). DS Graphics does not endorse or support any of these products, they are simply suggestions. FTP clients are much easier to use then a web browser and are recommended for all Secure FTP connections.

  • If you already have a FTP client installed you can open the SFTP address below or copy and paste it into your web Browser and it should prompt you to Choose an application to use. Browse to your FTP program to open.
  • You will be prompted to trust the server encryption key one time only.
  • Provide your login ID and password to connect.

Most FTP clients have a display window showing you the connection status. One side shows your local computer the other shows our FTP folders. Simply choose the file you want to upload and either drag it to the FTP window or click the Upload button.

Confirm file transfer when prompted and close all windows when transfer is complete.

There is an automatic e-mail sent to your Customer Service Representative notifying them that a file has been placed in your directory. However, a corresponding e-mail or phone call is still required for the job to become live at DS Graphics | Universal Wilde.
